Welcome to the Chaparral Firebird Band Program

The Chaparral Firebird Band Program is excited to have new members joining the team! While the amount of information can be overwhelming these pages aim to provide all the answers you may be seeking. As always, you can contact us directly if you cannot find an answer to your question. We look forward to having you and your student(s) as a part of our 2019-2020 season!

Chaparral Band Boosters

Welcome to our 2019-2020 school year!  It is an absolute honor to be serving as your Band Booster Board for this year.  Our team of elected officials are dedicated to our students and the welfare and betterment of the Chaparral Firebird Band Program.  We are looking forward to a fun and rewarding season of football games, competitions, rehearsals, and exhibitions, and we are looking forward to getting to know you and your student(s) better.

We are focused on three primary areas:

  1. Providing financial and volunteer support to the Chaparral Firebird Band Program (marching band, wind ensemble, concert band and jazz band)
  2. Assisting with the overall operations of the Chaparral Firebird Band Program
  3. Working with our talented musical director and staff members.

Through these areas of focus, we hope to ensure our students have the best possible band experience.  We count on ALL of our parents to assist us in our mission and we strongly encourage ALL parents to volunteer for special projects, events, competitions, events and fundraising throughout the entire school year.

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, we are beginning with the sole purpose to grow our parental support and awareness of the continued need for assistance from ALL parents. WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE.  Our organization desperately needs parent volunteers who support this program, the students, and the band director.  The Chaparral Firebird Band Program needs each of you to contribute your time and efforts to help the band program and help promote the educational opportunities available to our students.

Please feel free to reach out to any member of our team to learn how you can further assist with supporting this award-winning program.

Thank you in advance for your support!  Welcome to the Chaparral Firebird Band family, and we will see you all soon at a Chaparral Firebird Band Event, or at our regular Band Booster meetings.

Warmest regards,
Your Booster Board

Chaparral Firebird Band Facebook Page

Students are able to join and follow the band’s progression and achievements on the Chaparral Firebird Marching Band’s Facebook page.  It is an excellent opportunity to receive regular updates, as well as photos and videos of your child(ren)’s progression and performances.

Parents, please feel free to join the Chaparral Band Boosters Facebook page where we will post regular updates and information regarding the Boosters, fundraising and opportunities for volunteer involvement.

Special Projects

Many parents are affiliated with organizations, charities, and/or companies that may have special services or fundraising opportunities that can be utilized by the Band Boosters organization.  If you feel that you are able to contribute in some way that isn’t listed or mentioned above, please feel free to contact any of the Booster Board members and let them know how your unique talents can enhance our program!

Parent Volunteers

Parent Volunteers are a vital aspect of any band program.  We would like to have every student in the program be represented by a parent(s)/guardian(s) who is/are willing to volunteer at least 8 hours during the marching season. We desperately need volunteers for each and every band event, trip, and competition.  Without volunteers, none of this is possible.  Volunteers help in some of the following ways:

  • Chaperone on the bus (away games, competitions, etc.)
  • Help students with uniforms (size uniforms, plume the shakos)
  • Videotape or photograph band events
  • Serve water to students at games and events
  • Chaperone overnight trips (i.e. Disney trips, Vegas trip, Florida trip, etc.)
  • Serve food/beverages to students on trips, football games, competitions, outings, etc.
  • Help with fundraisers
  • Help organize social events (ie. Marching Band banquet held in December)
  • Help with other special events

Parents interested in chaperoning a day or overnight trips are required per Scottsdale Unified School District Policy to complete a Background Check through the District.  PLEASE complete this ASAP as it can take several weeks to complete.
